2006 Past Events

November

On November 16th, the FACC held its annual fundraiser, the Beaujolais Festival featuring the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau for 2006. The event was held at the Sherman St Event Complex in Denver and featured Food and Wine tasting, Casino entertainment, Silent Auction and a raffle. All proceeds from the event benefited the French-American Chamber of Commerce. The event was very well attended with 400 guests. More than 20 local restaurants and caterers participate as Food Sponsors and the guests enjoyed different types of French wines.

October

On October 25th, the FACC and the International Institute of Education presented a joint networking function featuring stand- up comic, Frank Schuchat Honorary Consul of Belgium, International Attorney and Stand-Up comic.

September

On September 20th, the FACC hosted a Membership Appreciation party at the William Havu art gallery. This event was free to all our members to thank them for their support. The guests enjoyed an evening of networking surrounded by beautiful European art and flowing French wine.

On September 15th, the FACC co-sponsored a luncheon with the Institute of International Education/Denver World Affair. The guest of Honnor was the Excellency French Ambassador to the United States, Jean-David Levitte, who spoke about France and the United States together in a World Transformed. The lunch was followed by a reception in honnor of Frieda Sanidas, our former Honorary Counsul Emeritus, upon being awarded the Legion d'Honneur. H.E. Jean-David Levitte presented the award to Frieda who has represented France in Colorado for almost 20 years and has distinguished herself in that role.

July

On July 14th and July 15th, the FACC co-sponsored with the Alliance Française and Denver International School the 1st annual Bastille Day Festival. This was an opportunity to stroll into Historic Downtown Littleton and celebrate the French culture through live music, food, vendors, French classes and much more.

June

On June 5th, EPS-Doublet presented and sponsored the 1st Annual FACC Golf Tournament. Players experienced mountain golf within 45 minutes of Denver at the spectacular Arrowhead Golf Club. Their participation supported the French-American Chamber of Commerce. In addition, they enjoyed a day full of networking, great food, wonderful prizes and giveaways, and much more golfing one of Colorado's most astonishing courses. The game was followed by a Awards Dinner.

On May 17th, members and nonmembers attended the FACC monthly Networking event. Guests enjoyed appetizers while networking with members and international peers.

On April 24th, the FACC hosted a presentation on “European Trade in Colorado”. The event was co-sponsored and presented by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and hosted by a French creperie, Crepes’n’Crepes. Sandi Moilanen, Director of Investment & Initiatives, featured a business presentation on “Overview of European investment in Colorado and Colorado Exports to Europe, Foreign Investment in Colorado, Strategies to attract European foreign investment in Colorado (targeted industries) and Colorado exports to Europe.

March

On March 29th, the FACC hosted a luncheon on “French-American Business: Communicating effectively across Cultures”. Attendees had the learning opportunity to enhance their intercultural knowledge and understanding The featured speakers were Melinda Cain from Real World Solutions and Giovanna Carriero-Contreras, the Director of Cesco Linguistic Services, LLC. This event was hosted by the Holiday Inn in downtown Denver.

On March 15th, members and nonmembers had the opportunity to catch up with fellow members, exchange business cards during a Networking evening at the Randolph’s Restaurant & Bar. In about 5 mn, each attendee shared his business vision and mission. Participants enjoyed appetizers while networking with members and international peers.

February

On February 23rd, the FACC held a “Meet our Members” networking evening with the French companies Lafuma America and Lapierre USA. Guillaume Linossier, Lafuma General Manager, presented the group Lafuma, a brief history outlook, reasons for establishing US subsidiary in Colorado and strategies of market penetration. Lapierre USA has been launched in April 2005. Brett Lindstrom, Sales and Marketing Manager, will present the company's philosophy, Lapierre Group history which celebrates its 60th Anniversary as well as their ambitions for the North American market. The event was hosted by Lafuma America.

January

On January 17th, the FACC co-sponsored the 7th International Business & Rodeo Day presented by the World Trade Center. This was an evening of international networking and fun at the National Western Stock Show. International Business & Rodeo Day is your chance to meet 200 people from our region who are interested in international business and to support Colorado's efforts to build our image as a recognized global community
