Artist Collaboration: Meet Cha

Cha is a French artist from Toulouse, France, who has been based in Denver, CO since February 2022. Since her move, she has fully embraced life as a full-time artist, achieving an impressive body of work in a short time. It’s likely you’ve seen her murals throughout the city, including two standout projects this summer: a large mural for Farm & Market at the intersection of Larimer and Broadway in the RiNo Art District, and another inside Green Spaces, a coworking and market space also in RiNo.

Earlier this year, she exhibited her work at the Denver Art Museum and held four live demos showcasing her creative process there. Cha collaborates with brands, most recently designing a rolling packet for Zzz Rolling Papers. She was also part of the Rooster Art Fest where she led a coloring station featuring some of her new original designs and live-paints frequently at events, providing guests with an interactive experience while creating pieces tailored to the event's theme. In addition to participating in numerous group shows, she had a solo exhibition in July at the Deep Space Drive-In Gallery in Five Points.

Before moving to Denver, Cha lived in Miami for 10 years, where she worked as the Programs and Outreach Coordinator for the Miami Design Preservation League, a nonprofit focused on preserving Miami Beach’s historic Art Deco architecture. During her time there, she created the Featured Local Artist program showcasing art from local artists in the Art Deco Museum. She also helped run the annual Art Deco Weekend festival, which draws around 300,000 people to Ocean Drive each year.

Cha is also a member of Deep Space Drive-In (DSDI) here in Denver, a multimedia design company that delivers accessible immersive experiences, such as projection mapping for diverse projects, creative technology workshops, gallery exhibitions for local artists, and community outreach throughout the Denver metro area and beyond. DSDI collaborates with local artists and organizations, using new media to foster social engagement.
