Cha’s Café & Atelier Opens at 8th and Santa Fe

A colorful new gathering place has arrived in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe. Cha’s Café & Atelier is now open at 925 W. 8th Avenue, bringing together thoughtfully crafted coffee, fresh pastries, local art and creative community under one roof.

Located just west of Santa Fe Drive in the former Wah Gwaan Brewing space, Cha’s is more than a traditional coffee shop. The café’s welcoming interior is filled with curated artwork and distinctive design details, creating an atmosphere that feels both comfortable and inspiring. Early visitors have praised its excellent coffee, pastries and art-filled setting.

The concept reflects founder Cha’s own creative journey. Before focusing on visual art, she sang and played guitar in several bands while living in France. That combination of artistic expression, hospitality and European café culture can be felt throughout the new space.

The word atelier—French for an artist’s studio or workshop—captures the café’s broader vision. Cha’s is designed as a place where guests can enjoy a morning coffee, meet a friend, discover local artwork or simply slow down and find inspiration. The café aims to remain approachable and community-oriented while serving carefully selected coffee, tea, pastries and convenient grab-and-go offerings.

Its opening is especially fitting for the Santa Fe corridor, one of Denver’s most vibrant cultural neighborhoods. Surrounded by galleries, studios and independent businesses, Cha’s adds a new daytime destination where food, art and conversation naturally come together.
