Out of the Office and Into the Kitchen: Our French Cooking Experience

Business attire? Left at the office. Aprons? On. Members and guests of the French-American Chamber of Commerce traded the boardroom for the kitchen at Classic Cooking Academy in Scottsdale, and the result was one of our most memorable networking events yet.

A Six-Course Lesson in French Tradition

Under the guidance of Chef Pascal Dionot, our group didn't just watch a cooking demo — we rolled up our sleeves and got to work preparing a full six-course French meal from start to finish. Chef Pascal brought decades of culinary expertise to the room, walking everyone through the techniques, timing, and small details that separate good French cooking from great French cooking.

What made the evening special wasn't just the food, though. It was watching a room full of business professionals swap slide decks for sauté pans, laughing over shared cutting boards and comparing notes on knife skills between courses. By the time the six courses hit the table, the conversation was flowing as freely as the wine — new connections made, existing ones strengthened, all over a shared appreciation for French cuisine.

More Than a Meal

Evenings like this are exactly why the Chamber exists: to bring our community together in ways that go beyond a typical networking mixer. Cooking side by side has a way of breaking down formality fast — you can't stay stiff and buttoned-up when you're elbow-deep in a béchamel with the person you just met five minutes ago.

A heartfelt merci to Chef Pascal Dionot and Classic Cooking Academy for hosting us and sharing the richness of French culinary tradition. And thank you to our sponsors — Copperstate Classic Cars, The International School of Arizona, and Vitesse Mortgage — whose support made the evening possible.

Missed It This Time? Don't Miss the Next One

If you weren't in the kitchen with us, you missed a genuinely great night — good food, good people, and a hands-on taste of French culture you won't find in a typical happy hour. The good news: this won't be the last time we get out of the office and into the kitchen.

Keep an eye out for our next culinary experience, and come find out for yourself why our members keep saying this is one of their favorite events of the year. Reach out to your chapter to be the first to know when the next seat opens up.

À bientôt, and bon appétit!
